Welcome - Brittany Verhagen will be joining us as an Educational Assistant supporting Special Education. Pending Board approval, she will be working with us from 7:35-12:35. For now, she will be filling in as a sub for a bit while wrapping up her work in a different district. Welcome, Brittany!
Spirit Wear -
Dismissal Plan - This week we will be trying out a sheet that will require classroom teachers to make note of how each student in class is getting picked up that day. Carol has this all ready to go on doors Tuesday morning. We will pick them up around 2:00 (after the 1:40 recess). We are looking for ways to cut down on radio traffic and hunting down teachers at the end of the day to get specifics on where students are at. We can reflect on this more at the staff meeting.
Lunch Proposal - I am currently working on a plan that provides us a bit more set-up and clean- up time between groups. We will continue our currently plan this week (1st grade will come in a bit early from recess) and possibly change things up the week of 9/13. I will be sharing this plan with SLT on Thursday. More to come.
iReady Testing to begin 9/13 - Susan, Lisa and Michelle have worked on this schedule for iReady testing. Signing up for an orange slot will give you extra support during the session. Gray will mean likely no extra adults to help. We are working to get some iPads in the building for 5K to use all ipads for this fall. More to come on if this is a possibility. If it isn't, we will borrow from other classrooms to make a full set. *You do NOT have to sign up as a team :)*
Guidance Calendar - Wondering when you have Guidance? Check the Google Calendar names 'Guidance Calendar'. We start on the 10th!
Safety Week - Week of Sept. 13 - More details to come on schedule - I will be coordinating with other buildings this week as we like to have some SROs available, if possible.
- Classroom teachers - Please check out an ALICE book from the Library. WE currently have 16 copies and show 3 more are already checked out. We should have enough. I know 4K has shared if necessary.
- We will attempt to use Crisis Go again, but please continue to account for your students the same as we did in the past as well. Bring your binders and hold up the green side to show you have everyone, or show the red side if you are missing a student.
- Drills we will practice: Hold, Lockdown, ALICE Evacuation to Reunifications areas, Fire drill, Tornado drill
Sept. 24 PD Day - EA's are not scheduled to attend PD on the 24th this month.
