Huggy Wuggy -
You may have heard about the video game character called Huggy Wuggy. Originally from the video game Poppy's Playhouse, Huggy Wuggy is a character popping up on YouTube and other social media apps. This link has more details and an explanation of why the content isn't appropriate for young students. If you hear it brought up in student conversations or recess games, you can remind students that it isn't school appropriate and the importance of helping everyone to feel safe. If a student is worried or concerned, you can talk with them about how they are feeling and ensure their safety. There is no need to bring up the topic or subject unless kids bring it up to you.
Please let me know if you would like additional support for specific students or classrooms.
